This is Blinky! It debuted at Google I/O 2010 and has intentionally received NO maintenance for exactly a year (It was opened up once to put a plastic plate on it for cosmetic reasons for a demo at AMES for Yuri's Night).
It has been deployed in Italy, the Mojave desert, UPEW 2010 (you may remember it parking itself to the side of the podium and taking in video), and a number of houses and workshops. And it's still going strong! The brains are a Propeller and a HTC Magic running android 1.6.
The thing is at my place (so bay area) and the driver is in Albany, Georgia. She said the overall lag was about a second or less, you can sort of tell by seeing the pause between moves.
This is the oldest extant Antbot in my possession, Antbot #00 having been broken up for parts and Dimi #01 having been sold. Remember that the intentional neglect was to both check for and prove the Antbot's reliability. We did it for science. You monster. And now Blinky is getting a proper makeover, I think it's earned it! It lost connection four times and regained it without problems. Note that this is still the old serial firmware!
