I just ask if there is any way to extend the remote control for distance more than 1000m (3300ft). I found a devises extend remote control for a distance about 100m by change IR to RF, my question can we extend the RF of that device to distance over 1000m, or if there is any other way. also can I use USB mouse and control device for that range. Thanks in advance to your help.

Hi Big Eagle and Welcome to the Parallax forums!

Just brainstorming a little here.... If you have a direct line of site perhaps you could use a laser to encode the signal. What are you trying to control? Are you using a standard TV type IR remote?

Thanks Paul, I try to control the DVR from other building, and I used the IR remote for DVR (like TV).
