memsic 2125 circuit

I am looking for a simple way to hook up a 2125 that when physical shock in x direction reaches an adjustable level is triggers a momentary alarm. I would prefer not to use a stamp but possibly a comparator to keep the design small and inexpensive. Would anyone have any suggestions? I have very little experience with electronics. Thank you.
