The two Capacitive Touch boards I ordered turned up this morning, and I tried one of them out on one of my Launchpad boards. It worked OK. They come with a new preprogrammed chip which includes the touch control hardware.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Rowley CrossWorks MSP430 tools work with the Launchpad. The latter seems to use an identical interface to the TI MSP-FET430UIF and Spy Bi-Wire for debugging, which is supported by the Rowley software.

I enjoy working with capacitive touch controls.
They are much better for art projects..who wants
ugly mechanical buttons.
