Drive Memsic 2125 directly from Prop pin?

I am considering running the Memsic directly from the Propeller pin. The application code only requires the output from the accelorometer at short specific times (samples.) I would like to turn it on and off as needed to keep the draw as low as possible.

The datasheet says the Memsic draws <5 mA. Everything else on the circuit is driven through a Darlington array. I did consider driving the Memsic through the Darlington but I have clamped the COM pin (10) to +12VDC for use in the inductive loads in the circuit.

My question is should I just drive the Memsic through the Prop pin, or can I use the existing Darlington array? I am somewhat limited for space as I am trying to meet space requirements for a short run proto board service.

    Bob,
Dont quite understand your question. The 2125 is a 3.3 volt part and should be able to interface directly with the prop. Are you trying to use a prop pin to power it on and off?

Yes, It would make for a much simpler design if I can power the 2125 on and off from a Propeller pin.

The specs say that the 2125 uses less that 4ma at 5 volts, so with 40 available on a prop pin, I would say that yes you could power it on and off with a prop pin.
