The Grace Episcopal GatorBots are having their National Robotics Week Demonstration Day and end of the year party this afternoon from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m (Central Daylight Savings Time).
You stole the show. None of the GatorBots had seen it.... I had them all in a circle with their parents behind them. I was talking about how much fun we had been having with our S2s. Then I told them I had something new to show them. I put down the S2, flipped on the power. Then... It put its right wheel in. It put its right wheel out and they were grinning. But, when it put its right wheel in and it shook it all about - the stood and cheered - laughing hysterically. Then it did the hokey pokey and it turned its self around and they applauded wildly. Then came an encore and they all cheered again.
You honestly stole the show. I then showed them where to find the video and how great the program was. Thanks for making their day!
Attached are a few pics. The group shot is the early birds. We had about 5 more kids, 4 parents and me - making 15 total. I am hoping one of the parents who took more action shots will send them to me this weekend. She is a very good photographer. Incidently the young fellow on the far right is the forums own ScribblerKart.
Many of the parents from last year had never seen the S2 in action and they were very impressed. As noted above the Hokey Pokey stole the show. Everytime a new parent showed up - we had to do an encore.
We also had a drawing and gave away a WAM kit. My son was mad, because I wouldn't let him be in on it! He will probably post a complaint soon.
Robotics is one of those rare fields that's fun, entertaining, and you learn a lot about real useful technologies - hardware design, programming, machine control - etc.
Way to go Whit and Scribblercart and all you other GatorBot members!

I'm super glad everyone enjoyed it! Hearing this just made my night.
But I can't take all the credit. They're incredibly lucky to have a leader like you!
Cheers,
Jessica

I think it is a bit more dance like that the Toddler - though that is a classic!

We had a great time - and I didn't even post pictures of the snacks!
