help with seetron backpack and bs2

i have an 'intermitant' problem with a scott edwards elect. serial backpack v7 or my bs2?

- serial backpack 'self test' works as per the datasheet OK everytime
- when connected to bs2 - it sometimes works perfectly
- sometimes displays nothing
- sometimes displays inital line1 and line 2 info
- sometimes displays line 2 info only and nothing on line 1

i have tried using different pins on bs2 (even another stamp)(and another LCD) but problem still exsists
(stamps and backpack/LCD have worked fine for years until now)

any ideas people?

Seems pretty clear, it all points to the seetron bkpk.
If there's been lots of placing/removing cycles,
then there could be some fractured solder on its connectors,...

thanks PJ,
that was one thing i never thought of and the simplest
so ive resoldered the bkpk and rechecked my code (lots of debug and pauses) and found some issues
so far so good
