Does anyone have success uploading a "webfile" to the SD card?

By WebFile I mean from a webpage to the SD card through the spinneret. I've seen demos but the ones I tested did not place anything on the SD card and I could not "surf to the file" so they seem to be proof of concept or unfinished example code.
