Hey Gang,
Just a heads up that UPEW 2011 @Parallax is a little more than a month away.
We're getting ready to start doing some calculations on food and extra space requirements, so if you've been on the fence about signing up this is a good weekend to finalize that decision. (It would really help us.)
A few more tips to help you plan for next month.
* If you can help folks with rides to and from the airport or the hotel, please print out a full-color copy of the Propeller hat and tape it to the back window of your car. This will help us spot you.
* We generally have plenty of cords at Parallax, but packing an extra surge strip isn't a bad idea. It's a reasonable small item to pack, and insures that we will have more than enough plug-space for all those wallwort powered Propellers.
* Bring your projects! Bring tools! Saturday night does not CLOSE, Propeller hackers will be working on projects all the way to Sunday morning! (Or until they collapse ) If you haven't had time to work on a special project, you'll have plenty of time, and many Propeller heads to share ideas with.
* Pack a small box of treasures for the freebie table! You've been saving those items for the last two years meaning to do something cool with them.. Time to clean shop and send them on their way! I promise you'll find treasures to replace them!
* Table space is available. Also, there are still presentation slots open. Presentation times will be decided the morning of the expo (around 10am) You do NOT have to be a professional speaker. Just show off your project and share your enthusiasm! A projector will be available.
* Swap shop and sales are welcome; the only rule is that the item must have some potential purpose for/with/about the Propeller or robotics.
* Come ready to have a good time. It's time to sign up!

Anyway, I finally registered for UPEW and UPEC.
Jeff, don't recall how I registered, but I would like half a table space for projects. No plans to sell anything this year, just work on projects and leverage the guru's that will be available.
Here's the official/unofficial deal on table space:
We haven't had the need to reserve table space, that being said, I encourage EVERYONE to bring projects, items for sale, etc. At current capacities, we have always had plenty of room for folks. When the numbers rise to the 300-500 levels, then I'll have to re-think this a little.
All I ask is that folks are friendly and make room for others when they arrive. The formula seems to work.
Bottom line.. bring goodies and enjoy the expo!
