writing to file

Hello Gentlemen:

I am a basic beginner and I would like to take the information stored in variable x received from my basic stamp via the usb cable that displays on the command console gui on my laptop and send it to a file on my laptop's harddrive (not the EEPROM on the stamp). I cannot find any help in the forums or command definitions. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You need code running on your PC that grabs the serial data and writes the file. See the STAMP downloads, PLX-DAQ Real-Time Data Acquisition for Microsoft Excel.
