The PE Kit I have features a prop plug, not a 40 DIP Pin propeler chip, and the PE Kit fundamentals book features the 40 DIP Pin version, should I be concerned about the functionality of my propeller if the book features a whole different propeller chip version?

I think you might be referring to the PropStick and not the PropPlug?

There are two separate setup books for the two products. This one is for the PropStick:

Other then the BOEn being tied to Vss on the PropStick, it should all be the same.
