TI to acquire National Semiconductor

This came as a bit of a shock today:
Given the size and market share of those two companies, it seems a bit anti-competitive. I wonder if or how this will impact Microchip's growing analog business.
Nonetheless, the news doesn't give me the same sinking feeling I had when Maxim bought Dallas Semiconductor.

VNH 3SP30TR-E They show 30000
VNH 3SP30TR-E-LF They show 4000
One Note I have never order from them before
As some friendly advice / warning; that company is a type of Black Market for ICs. In the past I have received counterfeit parts and swore to avoid this type of distributor. I guess in an extreme situation one would be forced to call them – I would rather remake the circuit board. Counterfeit parts get expensive!
if National Semiconductor also has fabs? If so the new bigger TI
would have a lot of fab capability.

Currently National Semiconductor's largest fabs are in Greenock, UK and Portland Maine ... If in Maine, you can see the fab from the airport tarmac if you are ever in that neck of the woods. Interesting though, Fairchild Semi still has a presence at National's Fab in Maine... wonder if that will change now.
TI has their own fab as well, the one I'm familiar with is in Richardson, Texas ... I'm sure that there are others such as in Miho, Japan which was severely damaged in the earthquake.
