Hello,
I have purchase an hm55b compass and I have connect it with an Arduino mcu. The compass works absolutely perfect and returns to me correct angle value, but this is happening just when the compass is completely horizontal. If the compass is not completely horizontal it returns to me angle value which error is more than 50 degrees.

Have anyone solve this matter?

Thank you for your time.

One solution could be the use of 4 degrees of freedom platform for the compass but I am wondering if it is available a software solution.
That is for my dissertation project, thus it is not a good idea to spend money… J

    Hello, pakatran,

The HM55b needs to be Horizontal in order to supply the correct heading.
No cure has been found, other then to select a different compass module that is tilt compensated.
Or find a way to keep the HM55b level at all times, much like You suggested in Your second post.
