I just purchased a game called "Atari's Greatest Hits Volume 2" and it actually contains an emulator for the Atari 400 computer that allows you to write programs in Atari BASIC.

I think this is great. What a way to introduce my 7 year old son to BASIC programming.

Pretty dang cool. I wonder if they'll also make it for PC. There was a previous PC-based "Best of Atari" collection many moons ago.

    erco,
There are a couple of XBOX Atari Compilations, but there isn't any
level select option - everything's on "expert" level.

There is also a DSi app for 800 points which means you have to download it to the DS. I'm wondering which one is more powerful.

Oh my dear lord! The Atari 800 was my first computer and I'd five (almost) anything to know where it is! In my exhuberent youth I felt twice as good as a 400 owner.....Ha!
