SD Card writing Lifetime
I'm using SanDisk 512MB and 2GB SD Cards.
The spec says the lifetime is about 5000 writes.
However, the spec also says this limit is only if one writes
to the same location.
I seam to recall that the cards have some smarts on them
that keep moving the actual written locations which would greatly
increase the effective lifetime.
Is this true?
Or do I have to somehow change the the file name without
erasing the old file names?
Or does the SD Card driver do this for me?
What about the locations where the directory is stored?
Do they get moved?

Very cool.
OK, I suspect the granular size is larger than 1KB but I should still be OK.
I'm asking about this because I'm looking to make a 1nS resolution Frequency Domain Sampling Scope
and want to use the SD drive for the channel data storage. Hopefully I can write to the SD drive at
a reasonable rate to keep up with the sampler.
Anyway thanks!
