Post 5,000 : A moment to say "Thank You" Parallax

This is post 5,000. You might not care, but it is a milestone for me. I'd like to use this milestone to say, "Thank You" to Parallax and friends that I've met on these forums.
The "Oldbitcollector" username was carried over from my interest in old computers, and being a Commodore collector, (among many other brands) it was a possible C64 emulation project on the Propeller that brought me over to the forums. We don't have this emulator yet, but there are many pieces of the project that have been completed, and I don't doubt for a second that when the Propeller II roles out, this will be one of the cool projects that will be done with it. In spite of the lack of a C64 emulator, The Parallax Propeller has allowed me to complete one of my long-held dreams of building my own little computer with power over all the aspects of it's abilities and programming. I didn't have to become a Computer Engineer to do it.
When I got the idea that I'd like to meet a bunch of the people that I chat with frequently on these forums, and started the Unofficial Propeller Expos. (Called Unofficial to keep from possibly angering those bunch of brilliant people who run Parallax) Not only has Parallax been supportive, but is a major contributor! I meet so many amazing people at these expos, and I'm looking forward to the three shows we have going this year!
Parallax offers unlimited access to learn in all of their products with entry points at EVERY level. Just when I look up from mastering a skill, there are five more challenges waiting to be tackled. I believe the secret to never growing old is constantly learning new things. I expect Parallax will keep me feeling like I'm in the thirties for the next 50 years.
Like the products, this community is amazing and I just wanted to say, "Thank you" So many of you are my senior when it comes to your knowledge of the Propeller and electronics. You are a goldmine of information and I consider you to very top of human evolution for being willing to share your knowledge in these forums. I seriously doubt there is another online community as good as this one anywhere on the Internet.

I have to say it's a lot more fun here than on the PIC or AVR forums.
Not that they are bad, this is just better.
I for one and I am sure there are others, appreciate your contribution to these forums and the Propellor "effort" all the way around.
Thank you,
Paul
Thank You for all of Your hard work on the UPE's too... :thumb:
Just curious, I wanted to look up Your first post, but could only go back 500 post's.
Do You remember Your first posting? fire up the "way back machine" and resurrect it...
Anyway's, thanks again for all You do here.

Wow! That is amazing. 5000 is a big number... Thank for all you do to support this community.
I too will one day attend a Propeller Expo!
Congrats, Jeff. Thanks for helping make the forum a happy place in which to procrastinate and squander our questionable skill sets. Wishing you another 5,000 posts... and beyond....
Here is a link to what I think may be your post #1:

Congratulation to you young man. You continue to be an inspiration.
How is the forum name change working out?
Take it slow and steady, don't force it.
See you in June.
I just did a quick search for C64 and 6502 on the forum - quite a few threads and like you say, lots of bits of the project.
Thinking about the CP/M emulation, you could reuse a lot of things. Serial, keyboard, disk access. Since the CP/M project last year we have some even better graphics. There are some intriguing sound objects. Are all the opcodes emulated yet?
A C64 sounds a fun project. What are we missing to get it going?
BTW, congrats on all those posts!
