I hope that store owner exercises top notch customer service. When you pass out shotguns, the last thing you want is an angry client dishing out frontier justice.

Thats what I'm taking about. A Real Radio Shack.
    '
What better way to protect your electronic stuff.
    '
This would benefit all the Yankees and Californians that don't have a gun.
    '
But I guess one would need to start a democracy first in their state to make it work.
    '
One could start with the second amendment.
    '
    Article II
    '
"The right of the people to keep and bear arms, Shall not be infringed."
    '
If your not down with Article II, You need to be deported!

I'd take the pizza. A Hi-Point .380-caliber is a gateway gun, you know.

If it's a free speed gun that determines car speed passing by..or a temperature gun for chips, I can understand that, but a bullet shooting handgun or shotgun, that's just wrong.. and.. pizza or a gun? It all sounds like a big publicity stunt.. or an error in the reporting news..

Yes, but just try to find a Radio at the Radio Shack...

Oh and as long as the Shotgun does not have bayonet lugs, it could be sold in California..
Provided the necessary paperworks and background checks are in order...

I know that there are some folks in California that believe if a Gun comes into California, God kills a kitten.
But I do know this is simply not true.. No kittens are harmed, it is a ploy for YOU to quit claim article II.
Or at the very least, for YOU to agree to change "shall not be infringed." into "slowly, shall not be infringed, sort of..."

Absolute power corrupts absolutely, So...be prepared.

When I worked for the military, one of the statistics that kept popping up was for Friendly Fire. It seems an estimated 15 to 25 percent of all people killed in war are killed by their own troops by accident. That's a number that seems to follow throughout history. It was true in the US Civil War and during Desert Storm, etc. In modern times our ability to discern friend from foe has gotten better, but the lethality of weapons has gotten better, too, so when people make a mistake, there's little time for the troops under attack to cry for help. Mind you, these are trained soldiers.

So it makes me wonder what are the statistics for random, untrained, inexperienced, potentially deranged people who are blithely handed weapons like this. How effective are they at defending themselves vs. shooting themselves or blowing the brains out of the little girl who's sleeping in the apartment next door?

If you want to solve a technically difficult problem, consider developing very effective non-lethal ways of bringing down an enemy tank or a home intruder. There are many reasons why such non-lethal technologies would be very attractive to governments and home owners. (One hint: while pizzas are effective at clogging arteries, they work at time scales that are not yet effective on home invaders. However, from the looks of things, I understand Pizza Hut is working on that.)

I'm sure they have to meet Federal and State weapons purchase requirements prior to be given the weapon.

I see this as a "cost" of living in a free society, when we give up the right to self defense, we will live in a caged society.

I'm guessing this thread will get the ax soon, too much of a political and "hot" topic.

Yup... Let's ditch it while we are all still friends..

I get what erco was trying to post up, but this is going to go down hill fast, and I am unable to back down, at all..
there can be no compromise on this issue..

    Thank You.

I hope those answers they supposedly have are better informed w/r/t the gun than they are w/r/t electronics, or a whole bunch of Montanans are going to end up shooting themselves.

LOL. Indeed! I guess having a gun giveaway also says a lot about how bad the Radio Shack burglar alarms must be. If somebody really wanted peace of mind, I should think a burglar alarm would be much more practical. If you were a football helmet outlet, I doubt you'd be giving away free neck braces with every purchase.

And you'll be happy to know that two hands is about all the gun control they have in Montana because they passed a law there saying this:

A personal firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured commercially or privately in Montana and that remains within the borders of Montana is not subject to federal law or federal regulation, including registration...

    http://data.opi.mt.gov/bills/2009/billhtml/hb0246.htm

Anyone 14 years or older can carry a loaded gun around. And use a silencer, too. That includes the lands of the National Parks. Sounds kinda scary, maybe.... but...

But my own experience in Montana, however, suggests a drunk driver is more likely to kill you than a Ritalin-rattled 14 year old with a silencer on his AK-47.

    God bless Montana.
Unfortunately, the California "Firearms Freedom Act" will not fit on a one page document.
and that is where the problem rears its ugly head...chip, chip, chip, till there is nothing left.

Alarmist? maybe, but lets not be doomed to repeat our past mistakes.

Just curious, but could it be said, Oliver North was well trained in the use of Firearms?

Not a history buff, not a problem, give Oliver North a good google..

But to save some effort, I will venture to say, Oliver North is indeed well trained with firearms.
Oliver North wore a United States Military Uniform during the trial.

No need to worry about Him though, I am sure it won't happen again, after all, He swore to tell the whole truth..
