Firefighting Compettition

My partner and I are entering the Firefighting Competition using the Boe-Bot. We plan to use the MLX90614 Infrared Thermometer as our main sensor to locate the flame (a small lit candle) however we are new to the sensor and need help with programing a 'roaming with' code, any help will be greatly appreciated.

It looks like there's an object for this sensor in the Propeller OBEX.

I've never used it, but perhaps it can give you some ideas.

I have the "Official" video (purchased, but amateur-grade) of the very first Trinity firefighting contest in 1994. I won it using a mighty BS1, a marvelous new product at the time. That was the first robot I ever built, and it still occupies a proud place in my robot display. YouTubing the video of my robot's winning run is on my "to do" list.

Yeah, we have checked all the programs form the product page, but we are having trouble integrating it with a roaming program, and i checked out the Propeller OBEX, but I am unfamiliar with the .spin extension. Thanks for the help though.

spin is a language that Propeller chips use. You can download the free software for working with it here:

On that page, there is also a link to software that allows you to work with SPIN on a Mac, etc.

The OP said he's using a BOE Bot. Unless it's populated with a Spin Stamp, the OBEX won't be much help.
