Keyfob Prop

Next in the ongoing series of Prop solutions looking for problems... a Key fob prop!

It has two stackable DIP8 sockets - one for I2C devices, and the other for I2C/SPI/QPSI device(s)

The prop itself is sandwiched between the coin cell holder and the PCB.

I had typed a nice long reply, but the lure of the "+Reply to Thread" button compelled me to click on it instead of it instead of the much smaller and less attractive "Post Quick Reply".

In summary, I said, "Cool project! Does the 3v cell work well?"

Tubular: Next you will be asking for a prop die to solder directly to the pcb :)

Nice work, I would like to see the actual prop on the board too. I had a similar idea come to mind when Polycase started selling their USB enclosure.

Paul, I wouldn't say "it works well" but it does work. Keeping the current consumption right down is obviously important, this won't be outputting any video any time soon. I'm going to try logging accelerometer data from Raymans 3AD, see what kind of battery life could be expected. Then I want to try one of Erco's $1 rechargable solar torch power subsystem, see if that can run for longer. Btw I know your pain, I've hit that "Reply to thread" button several times after composing. It causes me to stop and contemplate whether my post was really worth posting, often I don't bother re-entering it.

Cluso, I already asked Ken about the bare die, he told me to "keep it simple" :-)

WBA, I'll get you a pic of the Prop on board soon...
