Announcing miniPro - mini prototyping board for all boards (NEW blue production run)

Hi Guys,

FedEx dropped off the initial production run of some of my new boards; I will be posting announcements for them between now and UPEW.

First up is miniPro - a 2.70"x1.15" high density prototyping board

MiniPro is designed to fit:

- 10 pin connector on Parallax proto boards
- 10 pin connector on my boards :)
- 2x5 .. 2x10 connectors (including ucontroller.com's SpinStudio)
- Jon's/Gadget Gangsters Propeller Platform (except for Vin)
As usual, Sapieha worked his usual PCB magic!

Sapieha's layout increased the number of through holes by almost a factor of two compared to my original version. Holes are bussed in two and three pin groups, and there are power and ground busses as well.

I am attaching a large JPEG below.

This first run has a green solder mask, as I forgot to specify blue to my pcb manufacturer; future runs will be made with a blue solder mask.

miniPro is available immediately.

Introductory Pricing:

one for $3.75USD + s/h
three for $10.00USD + s/h
five for $15.00USD + s/h

As of June 15th, prices will be:

one for $4.50USD + s/h
three for $12.50USD + s/h
five for $20.00USD + s/h

Paul was kind enough to point out that I did not provide ordering instructions... so I am adding them here:

- send an email to "mikronauts atsymbol gmail dot com" with your address so I can figure out the shipping
- I will need the email address you use for PayPal, so I can send a PayPal invoice to you
- I normally make two runs to the post office a week, so it will be sent within a couple of days of payment

That is a very clever product! I like the bussing patterns as well as the multiple Prop board interfaces. These could have saved me a lot of work year before last when I was prototyping ADC front-ends. I burned several protoboards on failed experiments.

    Thanks Roger!

It turned great; I won't be able to resist trying one tomorrow.

The new Proteus is also looking great, I'll post about it tomorrow.

Congratulations Bill & Sapieha. Nice layout.
Looks like the last pin (+5v) has a link.

    Hi.

    One thing Bill not mentioned.
ALL Mounting holes are 40mils -- That give possibility to mount most of components in them (even machine pins)

    Thank you!

It has a short link to the hole beside it, for easy access - is that what you mean?

Actually it is structurally very strong; the plated through holes I think provide as much structural strength as the FR-4 pcb material.

All the holes do allow you to see through it easily :)

Just wait until you see how many holes the new Proteus prototyping board has... I will be posting that later today.

(I think more than 2x the number of holes of the original Proteus prototyping board on my site)

Thanks Sapieha, you are right - I did forget to mention that!

Not only does it allow mounting machine pins, it allows putting 2-3 wires/leads per hole as well.

    Hi Paul Sr.

Sorry, I have not set up a store yet - email me at "mikronauts atsymbol gmail dot com" with your address so I can figure out the shipping. Then I will need what email address to send a PayPal invoice to so you can pay me. I normally make two runs to the post office a week for mailing out items people have purchased.

    Thanks,

    Bill

That's a great price for a board with that many holes!

ExpressPCB would have a fit if I tried to order a board like that...

    Thanks Ray...

However I should point out that the price in the first post is an introductory price for the forum guys...

I will be raising the price mid-April to add sufficient margin for distribution.

(distributors want 35%-50% off from MSRP)

Check out my other new prototyping board at http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?130665-Announcing-Proteus-an-advanced-4.00-quot-x3.05-quot-prototyping-board

That has even more holes... Sapieha does crazy nice layout work!

I just got my second shipment of miniPro boards - and these ones are blue!

I only have a few green ones left, but until I run out of them, you can order miniPro's in either green or blue.
