Are you using a Basic Stamp 2 as your controller?
Have you worked through the Robotics with the Boe-Bot book?
Do you want to use Ping sensors like ratronic did?
Is the post at http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?130626-boe-bot-shadow-vehicle&p=987807#post987807
about this same project? If so, you shouldn't start a new thread. It's better to provide additional information in the original thread (this one) and ask a more specific question. So far your questions have been too general. You need to do most of the work and ask questions when you can't understand a particular item.
Ratronic used a Propeller as a controller. A Propeller can do a lot of things a Basic Stamp 2 can't. I haven 't used Basic Stamps myself for several years (I like Propeller a lot more) but I think it should be possible to use a Basic Stamp2 as a controller with what you want to do.
There are other ways to have one robot follow another besides using Ping modules. If you want to use Ping modules one of the first steps would be to learn to use them with your Boe-Bot to detect objects.
I think you'll get more help if have more specific questions.
