Some help from divers :)

Hi,
i have just purchased a wrist computer for scuba diving. It is a Puck from Mares. The PC Interface costs about 120 dollars so I was looking into making an interface with the prop. I cannot find anything online about this kind of interface and, of course, I do not want to destroy the Puck. Is there anybody here who can give me some more info? Even generic info would help. The only thing I know is that the interface is based on two pins only and there is "no polarity". You can plug the interface in either way and it will still work. How does that work?

Thanks
Nicola

(Probably not what they're doing, but the output of a full-wave bridge always results the desired polarity no matter the input.)

    Modulated AC, transformer-coupled?

The manual states there is an optional USB interface available. My guess would be that the output is some form of serial data similar to RS232/422/485. Sensing data rate and polarity for RS232/422/485 is fairly simple. If the unit has a send data function a scope should provide all the info you need to get started.
