Balancing motor

I am trying to figure out the best way to measure vibrations on a motor mount using a Basic Stamp 2 or 1. I am able to balance the output shaft but need a method to compare weight positions as to which position provides the best balance. Would a pizeo film be my best method and measure the voltage output? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
