Wired LCD display with keypad to mount on wall with tech docs?

I have all sorts of temperatures I want to monitor for my future home solar water heating system as well as my wood stove water heating system, inside/outside temps, etc...

So I would like to find a nice looking large LDC display (maybe display 12 lines of text) with a few buttons on it which can be mounted on a wall (wired). And which would have a data sheet for the display/keyboard.

Then I could connect a Propeller to that and program it myself.

Everything I am finding is for some product like home automation and there is no data sheet of course.

Any idea where I could find just the LCD display with some buttons with a nice case?

(I'm wiring my house now, so need to pre-wire for whatever display I might get...)

Personally, I would run a 3-4 line serial cable, and then put a separate prop board and LCD in the wall. I think Rayman's 4.3" touchscreen would work nicely, and they are the same price as a character LCD with a keypad, but with touch interface.

Touch screen is ok too. And propeller in the wall behind it is ok as well.

But I need a plastic case so it looks nice mounted on the wall of my house....
