Copy Tabs to Bottom of Screen?

Hey Mr. Bump,

How hard would it be to put a copy of the "Home|Forum|Blogs|What's New|Parallax.com|OBEX" tabs at the bottom of each screen? After reading the latest entries in a long thread, I have to scroll clear to the top to click the What's New tab again. My scroll-wheel finger gets sooo tired!

Okay, okay: it's not a huge inconvenience, but you never know if something's possible unless you ask! :)

Thanks,
-Phil

I could probably do that fairly easily, there's also the 'Top' link upon the footer navbar. I'll check it out and see how it might look, and to what extent since I could imagine performing that function in a few different ways.

Yeah I'll check it out; I also think real links work better than the 'Top' anchor link.

Oh, heavens! Top link is okay, too. I never noticed before you mentioned it!

I never noticed that Top link either. It's kinda useful but seems to be a one time use thing. It only works once, even refreshing the page does not make it work again.

    Rich,

It works repetitively in Opera. What browser are you using?

I just added a new todo on my projects list.
"Make Phil a mouse with a motorized scroll wheel."
I have a lot of other projects on the list so it might take a while.
I hope your finger holds up until then.
(Didn't George Jetsen have the same problem? He'd have a sore finger at the end of the day from his job of pressing a button. It seemed silly at the time. Now it's a common problem.)

'Just tried it in Safari. I see what you mean. The page address when you hit Top ends in "#top". I suppose when Safari sees that you're trying to go to the same address by hitting Top again, it thinks, "Hey, he's already on that page. I don't have to do anything! Derp, derp, derp," or something like that. Somehow Opera remembers that I'm in a different place on the page and refreshes to the specified anchor when I hit Top. Here's the link that's supposed to return you to the top of the page:
    <a href="showthread.php?129653-Copy-Tabs-to-Bottom-of-Screen&amp;p=979617#top" class="textcontrol" onclick="document.location.hash='top';return false;">Top</a>

That's a lot more complicated than
    <a href="#top">Top</a>

which is the usual way without having to invoke PHP again just to navigate a page that's already loaded. But vBulletin has its own way of doing things...
