Here it is!
5431733648_f1ce97255e_z.jpg
The SDRAM Module expands the Propeller Platform with 32MBybes of SDRAM, Video, Audio, and a microSD card slot. Features;
  • 32 MBytes SDR SDRAM for amazing projects
  • 4.6 MByte / Second Throughput
  • Low current draw (< 100mA)
  • TV + Audio connectors for video & sound output
  • microSD card slot on P16..P19 allows SDRAM to use P0..P15 for the fastest possible access.
This is a huge jump in memory for the Propeller & opens up a ton of possibilities - I'm really excited about it. I've put together a quick video demo on using it and usage notes on the project page.

This was designed by jazzed (Steve) and his SDRAMCache object is Open Source, so anyone is free to reuse it, too. As usual, let me know if you have any questions!

More info on the project page

    I would like one Nick.... (please send me a free copy immidieatly )
    I hope that you have designed the audio filter to pass trough higher frequencies than the (for some reason) standard 1.6 kHz seen in almost every propeller design I have looked at !?!?

    @Martin - thanks! This is 100% jazzed's work, I just assembled them.

    @Ahle - I wish I could send out freebies, but these are too expensive to make :( (RAM chip + Assembly + testing). Low pass uses a .01uF with an 1,100 ohm resistor for a 15kHz cutoff. I actually ran into this a few months ago when doing an audio tutorial, I ran SIDCog with a .01uF vs. a .1uF and the difference was dramatic.

    Nick - You don't have to send free boards to everyone. Just to the people in the forum would be ok :) .

    @Nick McClick
    I was little bit ironic (of course) ;)

    It is too expensive for me to get it from the USA.
    In the end I will probably pay 2x the price compared to native Americans. :(

    @Nick/Steve ... VERY Nice job!!!!

    One lament, though, there's no "I" in the I/O. Every pin is taken. You can do some great demos, but no Interactivity ... sigh! Sure you get a push buttton in if you give up sound ... but ... I guess we will have to wait until Prop2

    @Brian,

    Sure you can have interactivity! You missed the keyboard/mouse board that was designed with this project in mind. :)

    @Ahle - I actually only charge $6 for shipping. It's slow (airmail), but cheap.

    @OBC - exactly! They were designed with each other in mind. The SDRAM does take up a lot of I/O, but with the tiny2wire, you have 32MB+keyboard+mouse+video+audio+SDcard. The alternate pin connections on the E-Net module also let you add ethernet to the same SPI buss as the SDcard.

    Hi Nick. ... It is not what You charge. ... It is TULL and other payments that Europe will have that give us that big problems to BUY from outside of Europe. ... Only possibility are to send from outside of Europe as Private BOX.. That give no TULL payment if cost of box are about (1000skr in Sweden) Don't know if that works in other countries in Europe.

    @sapieha - all smaller orders go in a padded envelope & padded envelopes under 13oz. don't require a customs declaration. Does that avoid import duties?

    Hi Nick. Still if it is send as Factory BOX it will have added all TULL and other payments. As I said only if You send as Private BOX that will be Ok.

    Good to know, that's what I'll do from now on - just use my name instead of GG as the return address.

    In my experience when you ship to Italy the trick it to have the mail NOT signed for... the stuff you sent me avoided duties.

    Nice board steve & nick.

    I found express post a great way to send items from AUstralia and it is quite inexpensive too.
