programming languages (which one do you use and why)

I've been learning SPIN for the last week and really like the language.
I do not have programming experience in C or other languages (except Basic and COBOL) but I keep hearing that SPIN is slow and other things.
I know a lot of people like to program in ASM (I am not sadistic enough to make myself learn ASM)
And there is a PropBasic available, I just don't hear much about that.
Question:
In what other languages can the Prop be programmed?
What benefits does the language provide?
And, secondly-
Will the Prop2 use SPIN or will there be another language of choice for that one?

I was hoping to get an answer to that question recently with a poll. http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?128915-What-language-are-you-using-in-your-current-major-Prop-project
I would say having a look at PASM might be worth while. It's about the easiest assembler language I have ever seen.
Welcome to the forum by the way.
