using a oscillator

I am working with a 5V @ 14.31818Mhz oscillator...and I want to use it as a clock on a 3.3V device (propeller and other). Can I run the clock through a 74LVC244 buffer to change the voltage to 3.3V (and then to the propeller and other device as the clock)? Will it work and will the timing still be at 14.31818Mhz?

    That should work, and it will not change the frequency. But the '244, being an octal buffer, is overkill unless you've got plans for the other sections.

    Consider the 74LVC1G04 (single inverter). Use the DBV package as it has 0.65 spacing pins instead of 0.5mm - easier to hand solder!
