RB5X robot appears on Pawn Stars

Probably not the place to bring your RB5X (or other robot) to sell or pawn when you need cash...

An RB5X robot is brought into the store near the end of the show. It is just the basic robot without the arm.

    That's pretty funny. I think the pawn shop owner was right, while there's definitely buyers for it, those buyers are unlikely to walk into a pawn shop.

    I am going to follow that auction because I am curious what he gets.

    BTW That robot is still in production and you can buy it new. But it still has the same old eight bit processor. A Propeller chip would be a much better choice.

    The current owner was over as a guest a while back. I ended up designing a new experimenter board for the RB5X as well as a couple of different protoboards. I think John had some of the experimenter boards made up but I'm not sure if he ever had a run of prototyping boards made up.

    Well the auction ended and his reserve was not met. I guess the RB5X isn't as popular as the HERO because I expected it to sell.
