Where to begin?

Greetings and Salutations,

I have decided I want to dive into robotics but not really sure where to begin. I know I want to start with a kit of some sort. Should I go with Basic Stamp or Propeller? I have no experience at all with microcontrollers. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Start with the introductory tutorials. For the Stamps, it's "What's a Microcontroller?" and "Robotics with the BoeBot". Both are downloadable here. For the Propeller, look at the Propeller Education Kit labs and the S2 documentation here and here + here. The S2 is Propeller-based. You can start simply and, as you learn more about Propeller programming, you can get very sophisticated. After you've looked over this introductory stuff, you may have a better feeling about which product appeals to you. There's no "right answer" except for you and your needs.
