PASM RFID Reader and enable times

It looks like the RFID reader can pull almost 100mA of current while operating. In Bobb Fwed's nifty reader, he turns the thing on and off in about a 50% duty cycle, one second on and one second off. I'd like to change that to about .75 second on and .25 second off, does anyone know if that will cause some issues on the RFID reader board? On the basic stamp board, they almost never turn the reader off and it seems fine. This application will be on for about 8-9 hours a day with periods of frequent use so I'm wondering about overall lifecycles. The installation will be up for about 7 months. It's a children's museum, so I guess it's a pretty demanding enviroment.
