Control AC Treadmill Motor?

I want to control an AC treadmill motor with my Propeller.

The only info I have for the motor comes is stamped on the end of it:
GE Model 5KC46HR166
HP 3/4
RPM 1725
v115
CY 60
A 11.0
Code 901M
PC B1070

I'd like to be able to make adjustments to the motor speed at about 100Hz.
I know I need to buy or make a motor controller to go between the propeller and motor. I'd prefer to buy something but I haven't found any off the shelf products.

Can anyone give me some suggestions?
How would you control this motor from a Propeller?

Thanks for any help!

If you still have the control panel that was part of the tread mill it should have the control circuitry in it. And then you just need to use a transistor across the buttons and drive the transistors from the propeller.

The treadmill was mechanically speed controlled, so that's not an option for me. Thanks though.

    More info if you care:
You crank a handle, which tightens or loosens a cable, that slides the motor along two rails. The pulley on the motor is a special spring loaded split design, so the v-belt it drives moves deeper into the pulley or back up as the motor position changes. This effectively changes the motor pulley's diameter, and thus the gear ratio and speed.

It sounds like your treadmill has an rj45 port on it. It may or may not be ethernet. Do you know the pin-out specifications and the protocol it uses?

If you really have an AC treadmill drive motor, you have a SERIOUS oddball. Most treadmill drive motors are DC. I would scrap the one you have because speed control with it will be damn tough. You will have more into the drive for it than the motor itself is worth.
