I made a blog for my robot with frequently updated info about my build.

Check it out:

    I'm not sure if you have to worry about the SLA battery being 14.4V. I think that's the normal fully charged voltage for lead acid batteries. I'm pretty sure fully charged car batteries (lead acid) are 14.4V but are normally referred to as 12 volt batteries.

    Many other battery chemistries have different voltages based on how much of a charge they hold. You (almost) always see LiPo cells referred to as 3.7V but I just measured one that has just been charged and it reads 4.17V.

    That RC truck is huge!

    Good luck,

    Duane

    I don't know accually. I am following the re-runs for the third time on discovery science.
    Inspiring though! Especially for AESIOR...

    As for the voltage of the battery;

    The esc's are might be very sensitive so i run them from lipo's for now and run the pc from the sla battery with a voltage regulator.

    I like your idea using an RC model to do your project and it's a great place to start.

    What is the Wyse for?
    You say Medi-Care, but what is it's purpose?

    Botdoctor, very impressive!

    Idbrude, I believe DARPA and the new initiative was awarded new grant money which you can read about in Robot magazine.

    Doug

    The Wyse Thin Client is used for running xp and Roborealm. Doing the navigation and interfacing. also the speech and voice recognition is done on the thin client.

    The purpose of Aesior is to be able to autonomously find hurt/unwell/wounded people in the field. It will recognize persons from a database or add's new persons to it together with measured heartrate and bodytemperature(dead or alive and how much alive). It will then find help on it's own and gives details before arrival back to the patient. The robot comunicates vocally and through wifi hotspot web-interface.

    @Humanoido :

    Thank you!
