Seems this is no longer offered. Anything else that can replace it? S schematic with code to build it for NTSC?

I'm looking for something to adapt to a Basic Stamp 2 to display text on a TV screen via composite video.

This is perfect, easy serial interface, plug and go, etc.....

PTaylor, I made them. I should still have a couple lying around.
I will look and let you know if I find any.

The Propeller Backpack is intended as a replacement for this (as it comes out of the box) among other things. It has a 3-pin interface (power / ground / serial data) and the installed firmware works as a video terminal. Have a look at the documentation.

Good call, Mike. The Propeller Backpack has better resolution and has much more capability and flexibility than the older SX video display. I have an SX display and it was fine in its day, but since the Prop backpack is on sale right now for $34, I'd jump on that. I may just have to order one for myself!

Oh yeah, the backpack is a much better solution. And that is a killer price.

    Go with the backpack instead.

Hey PTaylor. Consider this: Just use a propeller for the whole project. With 8 cores it is as easy as an object declaration to add a video display. It takes 3 resistors to make composite video in color and you can use the PBASIC library in OBEX or something like FemtoBasic or PropBasic (written by Bean above - a propeller derived version of SX/B previously derived from his basic for PICs or something) to aid in the transition. Just a thought.
