C3 tri-ports headers (servo ports) and power

Each of the tri-port headers has a corresponding V-select jumper which selects whether the voltage at the tri-port header is 3.3V or 5V.
I haven't found a schematic [1] which indicates how the connection between the tri-port header and V-select header is made, but I assume it's a direct connection between the V-select center pin and the tri-port center pin.
If so, it should be possible to connect a different voltage to the center pin of the V-select header to have that voltage show up at the tri-port header. This would allow, for example, servos to be powered by 6V instead of the options built into the board.
Are there any problems with doing this?
[1] Which does not mean it doesn't exist.
