To All Owners on Parallax Internet Netburner Kits

I designed a product for a company over a year ago that relies on the PINK module. I currently have an order with them for a couple hundred pieces. The PINKS are currently out of stock. I have suggested the move to the spinneret, however it is a different form factor and currently doesnt have code that would support a direct swap for the PINK. Changing would be a series of test, documentation and approvals that would take a while.
I NEED your pink that is sitting unused on you bench or in your drawer. I will pay what you payed for it, if it is still in original kitted condition. However, if you do not have all the accessories, like the jumpers, cables and such and the board is in perfect working order, we can negotiate price.
I will pay you via paypal or mail.

Please respond to PM here on the parallax site.

Thank you.

    Hello Brian,

I don't want you to be in this squeeze either.

Jim Carey is off work today but he's been the person handling your PINK orders with NetBurner. And Chris Savage has managed them as well. I'm wondering why we can't get more of these PINKs for you as a special order since you continue to need them. I would be pleased to make the calls today and figure out what we could do to continue supplying the same hardware.

The Spinneret has two challenges. The first one you noted is the form factor. This is an open-source product and we can supply all native PCB files to you, including engineering BOMs, schematics, test procedures and any parts that you are unable to procure on your own. This could help solve the form-factor problem by enabling you to make your own version of Spinneret that resembles whatever size and shape you want it to be.

Next, you need PINK-compatible code for the Spinneret. I've been talking with David Carrier about this, and he wants the WizNet/Parallax contest to mature a bit further before we release this code (or, it will be produced as a result of the contest). I'm sure we can speed this process up, too, especially if it helps solve your problem.

Ring me at Parallax to discuss 916 624 8333.

And anybody else who has similar issues should always feel free to get us involved in more depth. We anguish over supply issues just like many of you do, day in and day out. Component shortages are now one of the biggest challenges of our business.

PM's don't allow uploading images, so I will do it here. I believe I have all the parts provided with the new kit.
