Anyone know what this is? Going through my PEK parts and I can't find this item (2 of them) in the component listing. I can't detect any color in the housing and it doesn't "seem" to light up when I apply power.
It looks like an infrared LED. Bascially it is the exact same thing as a regular LED, but uses infrared light, just like your TV remote. IR can be seen by IR detectors or a regular camera, but not the human eye...

I kind of thought that, but I have the clear IR leds and these guys are the small package and I didn't see them in the parts list. Ah well... experimentation is called for!
