Why is the forum changing again and again and...

One one day, the avatar is at the top, then a line, then the post test, then a line, rather crazy layout and a bit disconcerting to follow. The next day, the avatar is neatly at left with all the proper arrangements together. What can I do to keep the avatar at the left with the nice arrangement?

I've not noticed this behavior at all, Humanoido. It must be a browser issue.

    It's OK with Firefox.

I have noticed similar issues a couple times since the forum changeover and it appeared to be due to the browser corrupted CSS. After I forced a complete refresh of a page, the CSS would reload and it would be fine.

Ah, yes. The other view you were seeing is the default view without the css in place to make all of the user information slide to the left of the screen; just a stack of div containers. Might be a browser issue, load event, or something else more sinister? I haven't noticed this issue personally, but I understand why and how it might happen; although I would wager it's less common.

Thanks to everyone for the input and for identifying the anomaly. It happens sometimes in FireFox and sometimes not. I will make two screen capture images and post both when I see the effect next time. So far, it has not changed since I last posted here. It seems to be an intermittent effect. Also next time it appears I will try some things such as rebooting the browser, deleting cache files and cookies, and if you can think of anything else to try or set please let me know.

The problem appears to have vanished as quickly as it appeared. I did manage to capture one screen which ironically was different from the original screen anomaly.

That looks like the result of a corrupted or missing forum css file, which is separate from the forum pages. The page content is there; it's just not formatted correctly.

Today the forum has a completely different view again, with the avatars at the top instead of the side. These changes are very strange. I'm using the same FireFox browser. I tried changing to full screen and sub, but no changes.

You seem to be having some web connection issues again. It's almost certainly not the forum, since that's been normal here all day. Try flushing your cache and reloading from scratch.

I tried IE today and the forum page came up normal but it took a much longer time to load. So apparently the formatting changes are caused by the browser. Is there a fix for this? If the CSS file is corrupt, what is the next step to fix it?

If the CSS file is corrupt, flush your cache and reload. You'll get a fresh copy from the forum server.
