Bump,

The following post was submitted to the General Discussion forum:

It wasn't my submission, though, but it looks as though it was. (I could even edit it it, if I wanted to.) As much as I appreciate the added attention for my work, I think the mechanism for creating "articles" from posts needs to show origination from the person creating the article, not from the author whose thread is linked to within the article.

Again, I love having my work featured in an article, and I know that Parallax would never abuse its powers of attribution to anyone's detriment. It's just that when my name appears as the submitter of a post, that should actually be the case.

Thanks,
-Phil

Yeah, looking at that. It's on of those things where we wanted to allow comments to material posted to the home page, but the default method is annoying; however the desire for comments was greater than the annoyance caused and so we enabled it. I'll be looking at the bits that drive the function and I'll sort it out.

I'm sure you figured it out, but it's just a forum function that takes the author's information and makes a generic post with a link to the article with a simple message. That way people can make comments about the article. I fully understand the concern with something/someone making posts in your name without your direct consent; it's hmmmm... disconcerting, disheartening, and reprehensible.
