the competition is jan 29, and i still don't have a kit or any ideas for sumo bots.
anyone got any good kits or ideas for sumobots?
i am technically inclined, but am no pro in any way.
You can control them with an IR remote, that mode is remote controlled.
does the IR remote come with the kit, or do i have to buy it seperately?
also, do these kits require programming if i am just going to use wireless control?

I just checked with our Kitting dept. and we've been delayed waiting for a cable that's included with the kit. The cables arrive tomorrow, and it will probably be the day after, when they're in put into inventory for purchase.

They're also sold at some retailers, like Fry's electronics in California. Walk-in or mail order: http://www.frys.com/product/5229617?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
Solarbotics (Canada) has their own version in stock and ships fast & free: http://www.solarbotics.com/products/k_sv/ also http://www.solarbotics.com/products/39080/
No doubt about it...
But to answer your question, I would find someplace that has Parallax's SumoBot in stock.
btw, thanks for these quick replies guys.

You would have to buy the remote seperately (though you could use a Universal remote with a Sony config.). It is here - http://www.parallax.com/StoreSearchResults/tabid/768/List/0/SortField/4/ProductID/63/Default.aspx?txtSearch=remote+controll or here with the booklet - http://www.parallax.com/StoreSearchResults/tabid/768/List/0/SortField/4/ProductID/322/Default.aspx?txtSearch=remote+controll The book is available as a pdf.
Yes, the Sumobot would require a progam. Ideas are in the text that could get you moving.
If you can't find any elsewhere...
