    Ken is probably jealous of Chip's new toys (http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?128480-Chip-has-a-Propeller-2-key-functions-test-chip.-.-.) so he's hoarding all the C3s to play with himself.

    Hey guys,

    OBC alerted me to this thread, which anybody is welcome to do anytime BTW especially if we're not paying attention the way we should be.

    We could have launched the Propeller C3 before Christmas, but we decided to hold off so we could release it at the same time as the Propeller C3 Full Kit. The time not selling this important product was well-spent, actually. Andre's team finished up an assortment of sample code over the break, and we were able to finish up the C3 Prototype Boards (part of the Full Kit).

    But you want to know when they're available.

    They'll be available for sale on Tuesday, January 11th.

    @Ken
    Have you decided how much for the Full Kit?

    thank you very well for this update Ken, it will be a "very long" time until Jan 11th, but we will wait :p

    Anyway, I tried to order some chips from Parallax store, but I saw that the "USPS 1st Class International Mail" added recently is no more available (for France at least), and I can't of course pay $56 as shipping fees for about $46 of goods.
    Is it intentionally locked or are you going to restore this shipping channel again please?

    Regards

    @Octal... There was a discussion about international shipping a while ago. It was concluded by Parallax saying that they would try to reduce the cost of international shipping, by offering it without insurance and tracking. Perhaps you should send a E-mail to the sales department

    Thanks for the update Ken!

    A bunch of us are simple salivating over the potential of the C3 for 2011.
    Parallax appears to have created the "perfect" gaming platform with this.

    BTW, did anyone else notice that the FTP source files link was starting to contain files?
    You can get your C3 fix at least looking at the possibilities in code now.

    octal, it certainly should be functional. If you're having trouble please e-mail sales@parallax.com and tell them what you want to order. In the meantime I'll have our IT guys look into duplicating the error.

    Hi Ken,
    thank you for you asnwer. I'm having the pb at final stage of ordering when I try to select the shipping company and rate. if I select the United States Postal Service (USPS) from the "Rates By" combobox, the "Rates" combobox disapear completely. I tought that since the rate is fixed at arround $10,xx there will be no rates selection, but when I click on the link "Continue" I get the same webpage with a blue message at bottom saying: "There are no shipping services currently available for that shipping company. Please select a different shipping company in the [Rates By] dropdown menu."

    Hello Ltech,

    Very pleased to see we are at least two Belgian people on this forum.
    Perhaps you already know, some Parallax stuff is available in Belgium without paying the import tax of 10 euro:

    Still no solution to the shipping problem to France (when selecting USPS service, see screenshot of my previous post). Anyone is experiencing the same pb here in?

    @Jean-Marie

    Parallax shop ask 152$ for 3 spinnerets incl. shipping. I pay 10€ extra taxes => 138€ / 3 = 43€ for a spinneret. On your site 53€ .....
    Okay I have to wait 3 weeks.
    It was the first time trough Parallax.
    I got normally parallax stuff trough antratek.be but no spinneret at start time of spinneret

    Thanks

    Hey Jean-Marie! Good to see you on the forums.

    Parallax endorses GSE as a reliable and consistent source of Parallax products in Belgium and immediate surrounding countries. Jean-Marie has worked with us for many years and done a most excellent job as an authorized distributor.

    Whenever possible, buy from our distributors. If they don't offer the product or require too high of a price (consider that you will pay shipping + customs when making this determination, too) then buy it direct from Parallax. We have recently adjusted the distributor discounts to support them in stocking any Parallax item at a significant discount (even if they buy one unit). Therefore it is very reasonable to expect our distributors to offer the products at our retail plus their importing costs.

    Update on C3 availability
    ==================

    It was our goal to start sales of the Propeller C3 Board (32209) at the same time as the Propeller C3 Full Kit (32205). Here’s what we’re looking at from an inventory standpoint:

    32205 Propeller C3 Full Kit - these will not be in stock until January 21st due to a header delay from the supplier
    32209 Propeller C3 Board - these are in stock

    Because customers who buy the Propeller C3 Board alone will come back to us looking for the enclosure and prototype board -- which are only offered in the Propeller C3 Full Kit initially – we will enable ordering of both products in the next day. The Propeller C3 Full Kit will be available for backorder, but the Propeller C3 Board is available for immediate delivery.

    We will offer the Propeller C3 Proto Board alone, but it’s not our first order of priority right now.

    Sometimes what we set out to do is ideal, like having everything in stock at the same time. Other times the reality of the situation makes this totally impractical, as in this case. You might even remember that we delayed the launch prior to Christmas but now that the lead times are making a bad situation worse we'll start accepting orders (and shipping Propeller C3s, if you order it alone).

    Thanks,

    Ken Gracey

    @ the germans

    I would like to buy one. But I haven't found any distributor in germany yet.
    Does somebody know who has it already?

    If not how about a collected order directly from parallax
    And distributing it in germany with DHL or whatever?

    best regards

    Stefan

    I can't seem to locate the choice that includes the box. Has that been further delayed?

    Nevermind, I see that the full kit will NOT be available until Jan 21st. I just hope that you all leave a board for me.
