To help encourage my son (screen name Matthew B.) I am posting a picture of his completed BOE-BOT he got for Christmas. With a little help he did a great job! Dad is very proud of him! Now we can have all kinds of BOE-BOT contests. His is running a BS2 and mine a Spin Stamp. I just hope he doesn't catch on to fast!

Any suggestions for some fun contest?

Thanks,
Tony

    Thanks for the replies guys!

Whit, we're going to build one tomorrow. He's already almost lost it off the table tonight.

Erco, there is actually four ornaments on the tree and one in my office

This is absolutely fantastic and congratulations! May I suggest a small add-on brain? I'm working on a larger brain version here.

Excellent work, Matthew B.! (Plus, you have the greatest name of all time!)

I also gave one to my two sons, and they're not quite finished with them yet - you're way of them :-)

My boys like to build stuff like this too...
    Keep it up!

    -Matt (or Matthew!)

Thanks for replying! I can't wait to start adding more stuff to my boe bot.

    Thanks again,

    Matthew

Matt: Have fun! ! Just remember: never ask your Dad about the undocumented NUKE 0,1,pin x command. You're too young to experiment with that one.

But enjoy line-following and maze running!

Check your Dad's spare parts box for a Ping))). It's like a set of eyes that can see in total darkness and has a program that allows Boe-Bot to roam around and another program that acts like a radar that maps objects in front and determines distance. A servo motor moves it back and forth to scan the foreground. I'm installing one on my Boe-Bot soon!

Second that suggestion! I have the Ping))) with the IR sensors on Bob (BOE Bot) and he can roam around my apartment for like a half-hour without problems. Just fun to watch!
