W5100 Ethernet Question

Hey,

I have been researching and reading on the docs about the Spinneret Web Server. I would think the W5100 chip would be programmed in SPIN,but do I have that wrong?

I am starting a new project and I would like to use some of the commands that run inside the W5100 chip using it's predefined language.

I know this probably is a dumb question to ask,but I just wanted to confirm that I'm I reading it right.

The W5100 is NOT programmed in SPIN. The W5100 is a hardware device that responds to the commands outlined in the W5100 manual. Basically, the Prop tells the W5100 what to do.

Ok, so if I understand you correctly then the propeller tells the W5100 chip what to do?

I am trying to find in the propeller resources some of the things that would give me more information on the W5100 device. I am just trying to find any resources that would give me more info on how to work with the W5100 device through the propeller.

Mike, I have looked at the W5100 manual before. That was sort of what my question was about yesterday.

Demo code is the one thing I am trying to search for. I will look again on the forum.

Wow, thanks Mike.

Your project has a lot of great things on it and the other link as well.

I will research and look for more of how to get demo code for those message commands that I need.

All of these links you gave me are great stepping stones for understanding more of Spinneret and will help me further advance what I need Spinneret to do.
