We really need the delete function back.

Bump, here are just two recent examples:

In both cases, being able to delete a post before it was answered would have been beneficial.

    Make a Post, Go Advanced:
    At the top you will see an option to delete your post. Toggle the checkbox and submit.

    Posts are able to be deleted, Threads are not.

    Thanks. I think I may have deleted a handful of posts over time, maybe less than 10. They were worth deleting, trust me. (and you probably know, if you go look, as they are clearly still there on this forum, don't know about the other one)

    I frequent a few places on the net, and this group is one of the most responsible I've encountered. Delete is abused elsewhere, sometimes taking a lot of value with it. I understand the desire for that not to happen. And thanks for recognizing this group for what it is. I love contributing and reading here, because the crowd is just great. If that changes, turn it on then. People here will get it, I am sure.
