Propeller and automatic graphs.

Hi,

I captured temperature with the Propeller and I would like to show it using a graph.

The first option I thought was to use Excel ( copy and paste ) the temperature
data and use the Excel to see the graph.

The second option I would like to use it is without Excel. I want the Propeller to export
the data without a copy and paste. In fact I would like the Propeller to export the data
just after connect it to a PC (something more automatic).

Any idea ?

Thanks Joe

Two basic formats are comma separated (save as .csv) and tab separated (cut and paste directly - only works if tabs are preserved). Saving to Excel format directly is non-trivial.

You might want to consider Stamp Plot Pro (free for home use) or PLX-DAQ http://www.parallax.com/tabid/441/Default.aspx

    ViewPort would be another option.

For ultimate control and the most work on you part, you could write your own PC program to do what you want.

You might consider saving the data in comma separated variable CSV format onto an SD card as the test is being run. Then after you run the test, plug the SD card into your PC, download the data file, and when you open the file, it can automatically open up in Excel, and from there you can make a graph fairly fast.

Or, you could have the data show up directly as a crude graph on a VGA or even a TV using an object like VGA_text or TV_text. http://obex.parallax.com/objects/70/
