Rummaging around the local Radio Shack this afternoon netted me a couple of bargains. The TSL230R Light to Frequency Converter and the PIR Sensor for $1.97 each.

Not sure what use the light to frequency convertor might be, but I can plug it into my R/S electronics lab and play! ;-)

Check your Shack for the RFID sensor for under $10, too.

Unfortunately, =that= bin was empty. But I'm going to work tomorrow and pass by three R/S stores.

Hah! Took 6 days and 5 R/S stores, but I found one. Thanks for the heads-up!

What a deal! I picked one up a while back.

I wish they would run a specail on Pings))), but I have never seen them on sale at Radio Shack. I think they probably sell a lot more of the Pings))).

My local Radio Shack has the Parallax gear and never discounts it. I keep checking hoping to pick up a cheap RFID sensor.

I picked up a Ping))) at Fry's (regular price) and a mounting bracket from Solarbotics (regular price). THEN... I saw Parallax had the Ping))) with a free mounting bracket. Drat. Foiled again!

Silly Whit: God bless you, but why would anyone discount PINGs now that everyone and his mother are buying them in lots of 8-10 for their (UGH) POLYTHYLENE robot bases? Demand is high, and so shall the price remain. That's what a free-market economy is all about. It made America great. You can be both pro-America and pro-robot by paying full price with a smile! :)

Am I starting to sound like PJ? :)

Radio Shack? It's 6,298 miles away.
