Question about blog guidelines?

When you make a Blog about a particular item, are you supposed to keep all info about one project in the same Blog(Like you comment to add updates and pictures or edit the first post)??.... OR are you supposed to start a new Blog for updates? I would think it would be easier/ more efficient to add to an existing Blog, instead of starting a new one???

Well the Blogs were implemented with the intention to allow our community to use them as they saw fit; I was actually asked to make another entry along those lines, detailing more of our intentions. I still plan to, so watch for that, but until such time I'll answer this question.

If I understand your question correctly, you're asking if you should create an additional blog post to update your status on a specific project. As such; if you had created a post about "Cool Propeller Robot v1.0," or something less hierarchical, should you go back and edit that post as you progress (as per example the post would be edited and the title changed to "NEW! Cool Propeller Robot v1.1") or should a new post with a similar title as per the example be created.

This is completely up to you and a decision made based on your intentions with your blog. If you feel it's easier to showoff the legacy/history of your project by editing and making changes to your blog, then go ahead. It would keep the comment history and everything else on one page.

Alternatively, you could create a new blog post with a link to your previous entry and continue from there. This is typically how blogs are written because it helps keep an active history of progress. The link at the top would be for people wishing to access older information, visualize your process, and making a new post helps to keep things fresh.

So ultimately its your choice. If you feel it is more effective to edit and keep one page for people interested to come back to, then follow that route. If you'd rather post updates while creating new blogs as you travel along, then that's another available path.

@Bump... Okay, thanks. I didn't know if there was some sort of unofficial "guidelines"? But i guess it makes sense to have both options available :)
