Propeller Platform's Uniform 0.1" spacing versus Arduino's pins 7 and 8 .16" spacing

I recently became the proud owner of a Propeller Platform kit. One thing I noticed while reading the assembly instructions is that the spacing between the four pin and sixteen pin headers is a uniform multiple of 0.1". This makes building your own shields our of perf board relatively simple.
The Arduino's inexplicable 0.16" spacing between pins 7 and 8 has always bugged me and I prefer the breadboard compatible versions, but they can't use the shields as a result.
So Congratulations to the Gadget Gangster because they avoided something that always bugged me about the Ardunio.

I've got plenty of microprocessors for future projects, so I guess this is another personal excuse to skip Arduino for now.
{biased}But the ASC is much better{/biased}
