Hanno's EZLog- easily view variable values on your PC for free!

Hi,
Many people have asked me for a simple application to view variable values on the PC using the Conduit object I developed for ViewPort/PropScope/12Blocks.

Brad's Toyota Supra project finally convinced me to put something together- the result is EZLog:
*Easily monitor variables
*Quick integration
*Export timestamped data
*Copy/Paste data
*Auto/Manual Port

The free zip file is available here: http://hannoware.com/ezlog and includes:
*readme.pdf - guide which helps you get going
*demo.spin - sample program that shares some variables
*conduit.spin - required object
*EZLog.exe - executable, place wherever you want

Thanks Brad for the getting me started and all the feedback! Maybe you can tell us more about what you're doing?
Hanno

I believe this can be very valuable. I use a similar tactic with TV (without conduit of course), and it works nicely. Often we don't have room for big tools. Thanks for sharing.

    Hanno,

As always, thanks for the great stuff you publish. This looks pretty neat!! Will get a chance to look at it this weekend.

PS I am thinking about selling earthquake insurance as a side line. Interested :)

    Hey guys

This has been great to test, Hanno obliged all of my requests for something. The serial terminal has been great and still has its uses in a few situations, but this is much more useful for what I'm doing with the propeller, especially with the ability to log to a csv and then graph in excel. Being able to watch values change, while in a static location is invaluable in a lot of situations.

Here is an example I put together last week and tested last night with Hannos help in my car, I also have one in my other car as well with a similar setup and ezlog is great for this as it isn't very bright to be driving down the road or worse accelerating at wide open throttle while looking at a computer screen surprised.jpg .

The logging feature makes that a non issue, hopefully my pcb will be done before the end of the year and they'll be no more plywood :)

I have a 1988 Supra Targa. Had it since new. It's the model before the turbo version.

Just wondering what you are adding to your Supra - I must have missed it. Not that I have any free time with my other projects. <more distractions>

Things that control the stock twins and full the ecu into thinking the car is stock. That's pretty awesome that you had your mk3 since new :0
