calculating program speed

How do I find how long it takes for a segment of my program to finish? In the documentation for floating point it gives an execution time for how long it takes to do each action, how did they do this?

Check the Propeller Q&A regarding Code Execution Time. What it boils down to is either you add up instruction timings (PASM) and/or measure time before and after (based on cnt) for PASM/SPIN. HTH
